Salinon

Salinon, object, steel, 39 × 55 × 2 cm, 2025

For Salinon, Hamann takes up a classical geometric figure composed of four semicircles, first described in ancient mathematics. By removing the form from its original context and translating and reinterpreting it as a sculpture, the artist shifts the focus from pure theory to the physical experience of material and proportion. At the same time, the work points to fundamental principles of geometry and mathematics, and thus to the construction of knowledge and order.
