Cité venteuse
Sound work, 2010

Utopia is wishful thinking, a striving for the ideal, something to think about. In the desire for order and social change, architecture also plays an important role. Nowadays, in the attempt to fuse functionality and everyday life, many urban concepts focus on combining daily life and work. Some architectural concepts remain pure illusions, obvious from the beginning that they won’t work. Utopian architecture, as an often impossible concept, is the inspiration for the work cité venteuse. Utopia against the backdrop of architectural projects refers to the basic question of space, to organisational schemes and harmony. However, misjudged and unforeseeable factors can alter and disturb the functional rationality. Taking inspiration from the characteristics of the airflow that sometimes channels between high buildings, the sounds for cité venteuse are generated.
